Eat. Petit pain au chocolat.

Yesterday I had to think about the delicous sweets we bought on our short trip to France.  To satisfy the desire for pain au chocolat I decided to bake some on my own. Because homemade puff pastry from scratch is pretty difficult and time consuming I decided to simply use the prepared one. For the filling I used small bits of bittersweet chocolate. Better use high quality chocolate – you will see and taste the difference immediatley.

You need: Puff pastry – one egg beaten to blend for glaze – bittersweet chocolate

That’s how: Cut puff pastry into several squares – place chocolate on square – roll up dough tightly – brush each roll with egg glaze – Preheat oven to 200° c – Bake pastry for about 10 minutes. Enjoy when still warm.
